Ms. Jennifer MacMillan, EA of Santa Barbara has been elected President of the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA), the nation's largest statewide association of Enrolled Agents. Enrolled Agents are tax professionals licensed by the federal government to represent taxpayers and assist them with tax planning and the preparation of tax returns.
Ms. MacMillan has been an Enrolled Agent for more than 12 years and joined CSEA in 1998. She has been active in numerous capacities on the national, state, and local level, including chair of CSEA's Strategic Planning and Public Information & Awareness Committees, and as a member of the Legislative Affairs, Tax Agency Liaison, Bylaws, and Executive Committees, among others.
Ms. MacMillan, who owns a tax practice in Santa Barbara, was elected on June 21 in Ventura at the Society's Annual Meeting. The Channel Islands Chapter of CSEA hosted the four-day event which included a golf tournament and workshops as well as the formal awards and installation banquet. In addition to numerous California members, the President and the President-Elect of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) were in attendance, as was the President of the Japan Society of Enrolled Agents.
